Your gift powers Long Island's cultural and economic life
The Gateway drives real economic impact for Long Island. Our 40,000 to 50,000 annual patrons spend an estimated $1.49M to $1.87M in local businesses beyond their tickets. That's $37.31 per person at nearby restaurants, shops, and services each time they attend.
We're also a major employer. Every Gateway production creates 60+ jobs, including 8 to 12 union musicians, plus union directors and designers. As part of Long Island's nonprofit arts sector, which generated $330M in economic activity and supported 4,905 jobs in FY2022, we're helping power our local economy.
Beyond the economic engine, we strengthen our community. Each year, we donate our talents and resources to 700+ local nonprofits, schools, and businesses through partnerships and in-kind support.
Our Gateway School for the Performing Arts, now in its 17th year, has trained students who've gone on to Broadway, national tours, and TV/film careers.
Give in the way that fits you best
If you’re thinking about family legacy: Explore donor-directed giving and recognition opportunities that preserve Long Island’s cultural home for future generations.
If you’re a summer family / part-time resident: Support the cultural home that makes Suffolk summers richer for your family—and expand access for young artists and families across Long Island.
If you’re alumni (or a parent of alumni / former staff): Give back to the launchpad and help fund scholarships and mentorship for the next generation.
Or simply, if you loved a show this year, consider making a gift to help sustain what happens beyond the ticket.
